Sustainable designs. We consider environmental sustainability in every project and look for opportunities to maximize natural resources. Structures can be situated to minimize environmental impact. Stormwater is managed to minimize runoff, using innovative and cost-effective techniques that fit the site and the use (e.g. capture and re-use for landscape irrigation). Regulatory expertise. Without an experienced guide, the land development process can easily get bogged down in municipal approvals and regulatory requirements. SSM has broad experience working with municipal government to achieve win-win situations. We work closely with Conservation Districts, PaDEP and PennDOT to keep projects moving smoothly through the permitting processes. Technology. CAD and GPS-based design capabilities have become increasingly valuable in field work. Our site designs are fully modelled in 3D CAD so that they can be used for perspective drawings to help sell a project and in earthmoving equipment to help build a project.
