Mechanical Engineer

SSM is currently recruiting for a mid-level Mechanical (HVAC) engineer with at least seven years of experience in the design of HVAC, process piping and plumbing systems in industrial, commercial, and R&D type facilities. Responsibilities include the mechanical design of HVAC and other building systems for data center and industrial projects. We need a good communicator because you will be involved in several projects at one time, involving several team members.

The Mechanical (HVAC) Engineer will:

  • Perform project management responsibilities for projects involving AHU’s, fan coils, chillers, cooling towers, hydronic and steam piping, secondary cooling water systems, heat exchangers,  compressed air and nitrogen systems, natural gas, plumbing, and fire protection systems.

  • Prepare simple and routine plans, designs, calculations, and cost estimates by following standard engineering practices and procedures, coordinating with drafting and designers to complete projects.

  • Interpret client scope documents and verbal scope requests to proposals and guiding project though design and construction.

  • Assist with complex design, plans, calculations, field surveys, and reports.

  • Attend project meetings with clients, conduct field surveys to document existing conditions, conduct construction      observations, and prepare reports.

  • Remain current on professional practice and maintain high awareness of new products and procedures within the industry. 

Qualifications

  • B. S. in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.

  • 7 years’ experience in the design of HVAC systems.

  • Professional Engineering License in PA (preferred).

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, self-motivation, and leadership skills required.
