In conjunction with the EPA ENERGY STAR Partnership, SSM has formalized an Energy and Environmental team.

Patrick McCoy, PE, Vice President has been named as the Principal for Energy and Environmental Design with the firm and is responsible for utilizing corporate resources to ensure that our practices and deliverables are consistent with our core values. As a Vice President and Director of the firm, McCoy closely manages client relationship, oversees the quality of deliverables, and activities of the Facilities Services Group, including management of the Architectural Engineering department and the Indoor Environmental Quality department. McCoy is a graduate of Drexel University with a BS in Civil Engineering and BS in Architectural Engineering. He is a Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania.

Bruce Bell, PE, Senior Technical Director Mechanical and Plumbing Engineering has been named Corporate Director for Energy Design and is responsible for assuring design services are consistent with sustainable practices and the firm's mission. Bell's focus is exclusively with energy and delivering building system solutions that balance energy efficiency without compromising the comfort of the building occupant. Bell has more than thirty years of consulting experience; his engineering experience includes utility upgrades, HVAC, plumbing, process piping, and fire protection systems. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a BS in Engineering Mechanics. He is a professional engineer in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, and US Virgin Islands.

Eric Grindrod, PG, Director GeoEnvironmental Services has been named Corporate Director for Environmental Design and is responsible for maintaining the firm's approach to design that protects our use of natural resources, and minimizes waste and emissions to the environment. Grindrod has more than 20 years of environmental consulting experience including specialization in water resources, source water protection, watershed management, and water supply development. He is a graduate of Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania with a BS in Geology. Grindrod is a professional geologist in Pennsylvania.
